Islamic Society of Greater Portland (ISGP) condemns the horrific
mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, TX, on Tuesday
May 24, 2022, that killed 19 children and 2 adults.

We at ISGP extend our condolences to the family of loved ones
killed and hurt by this tragedy. May God grant them strength and
patience in the face of this tragedy.
We strongly urge our government and everyone to do more to keep

our children and teachers safe at schools and to establish a very
effective security in public places. We also strongly urge our
bipartisan lawmakers to stand up and pass stricter gun control laws
and mental health regulations that can prevent armed attacks like
this from happening again in the future.
